The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) today, November 6, opened a corridor to the southern Gaza Strip along the Salah al-Din Highway. Residents of the northern regions can evacuate along it from 10:00 to 14:00 local time (from 11:00 to 15:00 Moscow time). IDF press secretary Avichai Edri announced this on Facebook yesterday, November 5 (the social network belongs to Meta, is recognized as extremist and is banned in the Russian Federation).
The war between Israel and Hamas has been going on since October 7. Israel reported 1.4 thousand dead; on the Palestinian side, the number of victims is estimated at almost 9.5 thousand. On October 13, Israel demanded the evacuation of 1.1 million civilians in the northern part of Gaza within 24 hours. On October 15, the IDF reported that 600 thousand Palestinians had moved to the south. On November 1, for the first time since the outbreak of hostilities, holders of foreign passports were released from Gaza through the Rafah checkpoint on the border with Egypt.
