Israel-Hamas Ceasefire Deal: Hostages to Be Freed, Peace Efforts Led by Qatar and Egypt

Possibility of ending Gaza war has emerged as Israel and Hamas agree on a ceasefire deal. According to the agreement, hostages and prisoners will be released.

Qatar and Egypt are mediating the negotiations. New US President Donald Trump along with the Biden administration has expressed efforts toward restoring peace.

On Wednesday, Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani announced in a press conference that the agreement will take effect on January 19. In the first phase,several prisoners will be released within six weeks and Israeli forces will withdraw from Gaza.

Qatar and Egypt’s joint efforts to end the ongoing war in Gaza have succeeded. Both sides have agreed to permanently cease hostilities in Gaza and release prisoners. They also discussed sending humanitarian aid to those affected by the war.

US President Joe Biden, in a press conference, declared the end of the Israel-Hamas conflict and stated that the Biden administration and Trump’s team worked together to achieve the peace agreement.

Donald Trump through his Truth Social account, expressed full optimism about the deal’s success, saying hostages will soon return home. Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya claimed that Israel failed to achieve its goals in Gaza.

Many countries around the world welcomed decision and urged both parties to adhere to the terms of the agreement.
