Iran to host International West Asia Rugby Tournament

On June 18, the Federation of Iranian Sports Associations (IFSA) and the Asian Rugby Football Union (Asia Rugby) agreed to hold a tournament in the Iranian capital in September-October of this year. This was reported by the Iranian agency IRNA.

According to IRNA, the head of the IFSA
Mohammad Alipur and President of Asia Rugby
Qays Abdullah Al Dalai met and agreed that Tehran would host the upcoming West Asia rugby tournament.

At the meeting, Al-Dalai praised Iran’s government sports organizations for their support of rugby as a sporting discipline. He also noted that such a trend in the medium term will lead to the development of Iranian rugby.

As you know, at the moment Iran, Qatar, Lebanon and Iraq have already completed their participation in the tournament.
