Iranian Civil Aviation Organization has prohibited carrying any electronic communication devices on board planes, except for mobile phones.
Ban on bringing any electronic communication devices onto plane, excluding mobile phones, has been put in place, according to Jafar Yazarloo, the official spokesperson for the Organization.
Yazraloo’s statement came amid escalating tensions in the Middle East region following Iran’s rocket attack on Israeli territory earlier in October and the mass detonation of pagers in Lebanon in mid-September.
“Carrying of any electronic communication devices on board an airplane, except for mobile phones, either in hand luggage or in checked baggage, is prohibited,” Yazraloo said, as quoted by ISNA news agency.
According to Iranian Civil Aviation Organization’s official spokesperson, passengers are required to refrain from bringing devices such as pagers, walkie-talkies, and similar devices onto the plane to ensure flight safety.
In different areas of Lebanon, on September 17 and 18, there were detonations of communication devices, including pagers and radios.
Officially, 37 people died, and over 3,000 were injured. “Hezbollah” and Lebanese authorities placed the blame on Israel, who has neither confirmed nor denied their involvement. Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova called what happened in Lebanon a monstrous act of terrorism and an attempt to spark a large conflict.
