Immediately after the attack, Trepova got into a taxi and drove around the city, changing several cars along the route from the cafe to the apartment in order to complicate her capture. It is noted that on the day of the attack, the girl, according to the original plan, was supposed to leave the territory of Russia, but the curators opposed this.

On April 2, there was an explosion at the Street Food Bar cafe on Universitetskaya embankment in St. Petersburg. There was a creative evening of the military commissar Vladlen Tatarsky (Maxim Fomin). Tatarsky died on the spot. At the meeting, Trepova introduced herself as a student of the Academy of Arts, asking permission to give a statuette. After presenting the gift, the girl left the establishment, and soon an explosion occurred in the bar. The girl admitted to the investigators that she brought a figurine to the cafe, which subsequently exploded.
