International conference Globsec Bratislava Forum 2023 will be held in Slovakia

The international security conference Globsec Bratislava Forum 2023 (Globsec 2023) opens on Monday in Bratislava. The main topics of discussion will be the conflict in Ukraine and its impact on the situation in Europe, as well as the prospects for the development of a global dialogue.

A delegation of Ukrainian authorities will arrive in Bratislava. Slovakia will be represented at the conference by the President Zuzana Chaputova and members of the Government of the Republic.

In Slovakia, in connection with the upcoming conference and the participation in it of a large number of government officials, increased security measures have been taken. Last Wednesday, the republic, in particular, temporarily restored border control with the Czech Republic, Hungary, Austria and Poland, as well as at international airports. The restrictions will last until June 8th. According to the current rules of the Schengen area, which includes Slovakia, the participating countries can establish border controls on the internal borders of the Schengen states for up to six months.

Globsec is one of the most important international security conferences taking place in Europe. The organizers emphasize that its main goal is to strengthen interstate cooperation and assist the world community in finding effective responses to global challenges in politics, economics and security. The venue for the forum was Bratislava.
