INI CET Exam 2021: Supreme Court orders AIIMS to postpone INI CET exam by one month

INI CET Exam 2021: Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) will be postponed once again. The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) to postpone the INI CET exam by a month due to the COVID-19 pandemic. AIIMS has issued the admit card for this examination proposed on June 16.

The top court gave this order during the hearing of two petitions filed by doctors. The petitions had sought postponement of the examination. A bench of Justices Indira Banerjee and MR Shah, hearing the petition, said, “In view of the fact that the candidates are performing COVID-19 related duties far away from the examination centers and have not been given sufficient time to prepare, we feel It is arbitrary to fix the date of June 16. We instruct AIIMS to postpone the examination for at least one month.

INI CET is a national level PG medical entrance test for admission to MD, MS, DM (6 years), MCh (six years) and MDS courses in institutes like AIIMS, JIPMER, PGIMER, NIMHANS on the basis of performance. Let us tell you that doctors from all over the country were continuously demanding AIIMS to postpone this examination but AIIMS had refused to extend the examination date.

Earlier this entrance exam was scheduled to be held on 8th May but due to the pandemic it was postponed to 16th June.

INI CET 2021 exam will consist of 200 objective type questions. The candidate will be given 180 minutes for the July 2021 session.
