In Yekaterinburg, the head of the duty unit was detained in the case of fraud

In Yekaterinburg, with the participation of the FSB and the Sverdlovsk head office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the head of the duty unit of police department No. 13 was detained. A criminal case was initiated against him under Part 3 of Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud committed by a person using his official position). About it informed Senior Assistant to the Head of the Investigative Committee for the Sverdlovsk Region Alexander Shulga.

According to investigators, the detainee received money to allegedly resolve the issue of stopping criminal prosecution.

The head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Sverdlovsk Region, Valery Gorelykh, said that the employee had been suspended from duty and, following an internal audit, would be dismissed from the internal affairs bodies on negative grounds.

β€œHis direct supervisors will not remain as observers either. For omissions in the work on the prevention of corruption crimes, they will be brought to strict disciplinary responsibility,” said Colonel Gorelykh.

The collection of evidence in the case continues. According to Mr. Shulga, the detainee admitted his guilt. He faces up to six years in prison on the charges.
