In Yekaterinburg, the actor of the Moscow Art Theater explained why performances should not be canceled because of the position of artists in the SVO

No position of the artists regarding the special operation in Ukraine should affect their theatrical activities – art should remain a priority. This was reported to a URA.RU correspondent by the actor of the Moscow Art Theater named after V. A.P. Chekhov (Moscow Art Theater) Yuri Chursin, who is also known for his role in the film “Playing the Victim” directed by Kirill Serebryannikov.

“I think it’s all such a fuss. Whoever thinks or decides what, there is a work of art, and it is the most important, ”said the actor. Earlier in Yekaterinburg, the play “Einstein and Margarita” was canceled, where Ksenia Rapoport and Alexei Serebryakov played because of the anti-war position of the actress.

On May 23 and 24, the Golden Mask program starts in Yekaterinburg. The audience will see the musical “Cyrano de Bergerac” staged by Yegor Peregudov, and on June 25 and 26 the Theater of Young Spectators will present Lev Dodin’s play based on Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel “The Brothers Karamazov”.
