In Yakutia, most forest fires are not extinguished


Sixteen forest fires in Yakutia are in the control zone: work to extinguish them is either not being carried out or will be stopped in the near future. This was announced at a briefing on June 15 by the Deputy Minister of Ecology, Nature Management and Forestry of Yakutia Andrey Konoplyov.

According to him, two fires were discovered in the republic in the Neryungri district on a total area of ​​352 hectares per day, they are localized. Another fire on lands of other categories was recorded in the Oleneksky district, its area is more than 1.6 thousand hectares. This fire is not extinguished, because it does not pose a threat to settlements and economic facilities, the distance to the nearest village is 125 km.
