In Uzbekistan, police received a prison term for beating a detainee to death

A court in the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan sentenced four police officers to 8.6 years in prison for beating a detainee to death. This was reported by the press service of the Supreme Court.

“The court found all four guilty and sentenced them to imprisonment for terms ranging from six years to eight years and six months,” the press service said. The court’s message is reported by RIA Novosti.

On June 3 this year, a man was brought to the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Bukinsky district of the Tashkent region. After interrogation, he was hospitalized and later died. The head of the criminal investigation department, two operatives and a prevention inspector were accused of the death of the detainee. They are accused under the article on the use of torture and other cruel forms of punishment.
