He said that on the morning of May 6, he was traveling to the Kyiv region to conduct a service in one of the monasteries. However, at the first checkpoint, employees of the State Customs Service stopped him to check his documents.

Some time later, the police intervened. They searched the car, checked the contents of all containers, and, in particular, all the medicines of the priest.

The priest explained that he was added to the site database about eight years ago when he opposed the creation of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) and state interference in the affairs of the church.

The Metropolitan was kept at the checkpoint for some time, then he called another police squad, who accepted a statement from him about illegal detention, and then released him.
