As a result of the breakdown, more than two million citizens were left without power supply, the department noted. A system failure occurred on May 30 and resulted in rolling blackouts. The ministry called it the largest since February 2023.
Problems were observed in Kyiv, Vinnitsa, Nikolaev, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovograd regions of the country. Also, failures occurred in the Odessa, Kharkiv and Cherkassy, Khmelnytsky regions and in the part of the Zaporozhye region occupied by Ukrainian troops.
