In Ukraine, a dodger drowned in the Tisza River while trying to escape to Hungary

The evader drowned in the Tisza River while trying to escape to Hungary, the country’s western regional department of the State Border Service said.

The accident occurred in the Transcarpathian region. Two men decided to illegally cross the border. They were discovered by guards who were patrolling the banks of the Tisza River. The violators fled with a rubber boat towards the state border, but they were pursued.

One of the evaders was detained in the thicket, and the other jumped into the water and drowned due to the strong current, which swiftly carried the man away. The military tried to save him, but to no avail. Emergency services are on the scene.
