In the Perm Territory, a criminal case was initiated after the reaction of the head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin to the story that took place in colony No. 10, where the convict was beheaded. The department clarified that the investigative department for the city of Chusovaya of the regional investigation department of the ICR is investigating the case.
“A criminal case has been initiated on the fact of improper performance by officials of the correctional institution of the GUFSIN of Russia in the Perm Territory of their duties of supervising convicts, which resulted in the death of one of the convicts. on the grounds of a crime under Part. 2 Article. 293 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Negligence”),” the press service of the department explained.
Investigators are now establishing all the circumstances of the crime. The criminal investigation is ongoing. In October 2021, Alexander Bragin, who was serving a sentence in IK-10, was found on the territory of the industrial zone with a severed head.
The mother of the convict, Galina Oputina, told URA.RU that the investigators refused to open a criminal case after her son’s death. After that, she was forced to go to the reception of Bastrykin, who instructed his Perm colleagues to look into what had happened and report to him about the procedural decision made as soon as possible.
