Kherson region is technically ready to launch a railway passenger connection with Crimea. This was stated by the head of the military-civilian administration Vladimir Saldo, RIA Novosti reports.
In Crimea, from July 1, they intend to launch in test mode a passenger railway connection with the liberated regions of southern Ukraine, which was interrupted in 2014.
“The technical condition of the railway tracks has been checked, and they are ready for the passage of trains,” Saldo said.

Restoration work is currently underway, he said. He also said that diesel locomotives are coming from Russia as aid, and expressed confidence that “there will be new railway cars.”
