In the first quarter, twice as many cars were imported through Vladivostok customs than a year earlier – more than 60,000

More than 60.5 thousand cars imported by individuals were issued by employees of the Vladivostok customs in the 1st quarter of this year. This is almost twice as much as in 2022, informed press service of the Far Eastern Customs Administration (FETU).

According to customs data, most cars were imported this year in March – more than 22,000 (last March – 11,000). In April, the number of imported foreign cars decreased by 14% to 19.5 thousand units.

“This is a seasonal dynamic. Usually the flow of cars increases in the summer months and reaches a peak value in November, ”Konstantin Ponomarev, First Deputy Head of Vladivostok Customs, is quoted in the message.

At the end of 2022, the Vladivostok customs cleared the import of more than 197 thousand cars. Compared to the previous year, the number of foreign cars imported by individuals increased by 72%.

According to customs, the main volume of imported used cars are Japanese brands – Toyota, Mazda, Nissan, Honda, Subaru and Suzuki, fewer cars from South Korea – Hyundai and Kia. The import of cars for personal use from the PRC is isolated.
