Residents of the city of Kataysk (Kurgan region) are waiting for the modernization of the water supply system. The renovation will take place within the framework of the state program “Development of Housing Construction”. Vladimir Yakushev, Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Ural District, spoke about this.

“The city water supply system will be repaired in Kataysk,” the press service of the Kurgan government quoted Yakushev’s answer in response to an appeal from a city resident. The work should be completed by September 2024.

The existing cast iron water pipes in Kataysk will be replaced with plastic ones. Wells for network distribution, new shut-off valves, and fire hydrants will also be installed. The issue of modernization has been worked out with the government of the Kurgan region, the plenipotentiary noted.

Earlier, URA.RU reported that residents of Kataysk complained about the lack of water in the summer. Local authorities explained that due to a lack of funds in the budget, they submitted an application for modernization to the regional government. To preserve worn-out networks, the administration of Kataysk turned off the pumps at night.
