In Russia, the incidence of COVID-19 increased by 31.7% over the week – Kommersant

Over the past week, the incidence of coronavirus in Russia increased by 31.7%, and the number of hospitalizations by 33.4%. This was reported by TASS with reference to the operational headquarters to combat the infection.

An increase in the number of hospitalizations was noted in 64 regions, the incidence increased in 73 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. According to the headquarters, 22,993 people recovered within a week. This is 10.8% more than the week before. 63 patients with COVID-19 died during the reporting period.

In October, the head of the Gamaleya Center, Alexander Gintsburg, announced that the Sputnik V vaccine lost protection against coronavirus. A new version of the vaccine is currently being developed; it can enter civilian circulation only by March 2024. A significant number of clinics in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region no longer provide vaccinations.
