In Russia, the amount of cash in circulation for the first time exceeded 17 trillion rubles

The volume of cash in circulation for the first time in the years of publication of statistics exceeded 17 trillion rubles. “Prime” with reference to data from the Bank of Russia. Over the month, the indicator increased by 3% to 17.154 trillion rubles. For the year, the growth was approximately 20%.

In 2022, the volume of cash in circulation increased by RUB 2.3 trillion. The regulator observed the main bursts of cash withdrawals in February-March and September. In March 2023, Kommersant reported that citizens began to use cash withdrawals more actively, including against the background of the growth of the gray segment of the economy.
