In Russia, it was forbidden to work in a taxi and public transport with an outstanding criminal record

New rules for public transport and taxi drivers come into force in Russia, prohibiting work for people with an outstanding criminal record. Corresponding amendments to the Labor Code were made on March 1.

According to the new article 328.1 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, an employee, upon employment, is required to present a certificate of the presence or absence of a criminal record. People who have an unexpunged or outstanding conviction for grave and especially grave crimes will not be allowed to work.

The law also applies to those who are tried or prosecuted under similar articles in other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, which, in addition to Russia, include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.
