The Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) detained two entrepreneurs as part of a case of giving a bribe. On suspicion of taking a bribe (Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), today, March 24, the deputy head of the Central Customs Directorate (CTU) of the Federal Customs Service (FTS), General Alexander Beglov and head of the specialized customs post of the Central Excise Customs Colonel Alexander Aleev.

“Berezhnoy A.S. and Krasnogorsky D.L. were detained. In the near future, a meeting will begin on choosing a measure of restraint for them,” they said. TASS in the press service of the Basmanny Court of Moscow.

Mr. Berezhnoy, the press service added, is accused of giving a bribe (clause “b” of part 4 of article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), and Mr. Krasnogorsky is accused of mediation in bribery.

REN TV reported that Alexander Beglov and Alexander Aleev were caught red-handed upon receiving 3.8 million rubles. from two entrepreneurs. Their names were not called. The homes and workplaces of the suspects were searched. The Investigative Committee asked to take Messrs. Beglov and Aleev into custody. The maximum penalty under Art. 290 – imprisonment for up to three years.
