In Kurgan, three officials, due to whose mistakes cancer patients were left without antitumor drugs and were forced to interrupt treatment, were brought to disciplinary liability. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office.
“The prosecutor’s office submitted proposals to the chief physician of the oncology clinic and the director of the regional health department to eliminate violations of citizens’ rights. Based on the results of consideration of the submissions, three guilty officials were brought to disciplinary liability,” the prosecutor’s office of the Kurgan region reports.
Deputy Prosecutor General Sergei Zaitsev instructed to check the situation with the provision of cancer patients in Kurgan after the publication of URA.RU. Relatives of patients said that they could not obtain expensive anticancer drugs for several weeks, which is why they had to interrupt the course of treatment. The Department of Health then clarified that more than 10 patients are receiving treatment with these drugs. For some of them, an alternative treatment regimen has been selected, while others are ready to be sent for treatment to a neighboring region. The prosecutor’s office found that in September 2023, patients with cancer were not provided with drugs due to untimely submission of applications for the purchase of drugs. Currently, everyone in need has received the drugs.
