Kurgan schools may cancel face-to-face classes for students due to frosts down to -35 degrees. This was reported by a URA.RU correspondent who compared the table of class cancellations with the weather forecast of the Gismeteo and Yandex Weather services for the coming days.
“On the territory of Kurgan on Thursday, December 7, the air temperature at night was 32 degrees below zero. The temperature during the day will rise to -29 degrees. Wind gusts up to 7 m/s. On the morning of December 8, the air temperature is expected to reach -36 degrees. Wind 1-3 m/,” indicated on the weather service website. According to Yandex Weather, in Kurgan on Thursday morning the temperature is expected to be 30 degrees below zero with winds of up to two meters per second. On December 8th in the morning it will be minus 35 with a slight wind.
According to the table published by the Department of Education and Science of the Kurgan Region, for students from grades 1 to 4, school classes are canceled at a temperature of -29 degrees without wind, at -28 degrees and a wind speed of up to five meters per second, and at -25 degrees with wind speed of five meters per second or more. For high school students, lessons are canceled at temperatures of -30 degrees with wind. Thus, classes may be canceled on Thursday, Friday, and also on Monday, December 11, when the temperature will be down to -37 degrees.
Earlier, URA.RU wrote that Kurgan residents were reminded of the weather conditions under which classes in schools for students of different classes are canceled. It was reported that primary schoolchildren will not go to school in temperatures of -25 degrees with wind.
