During the year, the commissioning of residential buildings in the Kurgan region more than doubled. In January-May 2022, about 132 thousand square meters were put into operation in the region. Such data are provided on the website of Sverdlovskstat.

“Commissioning of residential buildings in the Kurgan region. January-May 2022. A total of 131.9 thousand square meters were commissioned, including 94.1 individual construction. Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, housing commissioning increased by 63.9%,” the table says.

In January-May last year, 80.5 thousand square meters were put into operation, including individual construction – more than 75 thousand. In total, more than 280 thousand square meters of housing were commissioned in 2021.

Earlier, URA.RU reported that the Kurgan region took 45th place in the rating of Russian regions in terms of the affordability of housing. According to experts, in order to buy a kopeck piece, Kurgan families need to save more than eight years. Also, thousands of Kurgan residents have been waiting for new apartments for more than 10 years. Almost 18,000 needy families are on the waiting list for housing in the region.
