In Komi, a former teacher was jailed for commenting on a post about the explosion of the Crimean bridge

In Komi (the city of Mikun), former teacher Nikita Tushkanov was sentenced to five and a half years in prison for his statement about the explosion of the Crimean bridge. Kommersant was told in court that Nikita Tushkanov was found guilty of calling for terrorism and repeatedly discrediting the army.

In addition to the real term, a ban was imposed on the administration of Internet sites by convicted persons for three years.

The former teacher spent the entire period of investigation and trial in a pre-trial detention center (since December 2022). The criminal case was initiated on the basis of a comment in which the defendant called the explosion of the bridge a “birthday present” for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In 2021, Nikita Tushkanov held a one-man picket – an action in support of Alexei Navalny – in his hometown of Mikun (Ust-Vymsky district). After that, he was fired from school for an immoral act.
