In Israel, about 500,000 people took to the streets to protest against the government’s proposed judicial reform. This is reported by the newspaper Times of Israel, referring to the organizers of the demonstrations.

Demonstrations were held in different cities of the country. A quarter of a million citizens demonstrated in Tel Aviv.

Massive protests continue in Israel amid approval for consideration in the Knesset (the country’s unicameral representative body. — Note. Life) the second part of the planned judicial reform. Demonstrations against it have been going on for about ten weeks straight. The changes involve a reduction in the powers of the Supreme Court, the right of parliament to challenge its decisions, as well as control by the ruling coalition over the procedure for appointing judges.
