    Twelve people died in an accident with a bus with a Polish registration plate in Varažda County, Croatia. There are no children among the victims and injured.

    By data channel HRT, the accident occurred at about 5:40 (6:40 Moscow time) on the highway in the direction of Zagreb between the villages of Jarek-Bisashki and Podgorets. While driving, the Polish bus ran off the road. According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Croatia, Davor Bozhinovich, law enforcement officers received a signal about an accident from a Polish citizen who was on the bus. All emergency services, 16 ambulance brigades, police and firefighters quickly arrived at the scene.

    “At the moment, we have information that 11 people died, 33 received various injuries and were taken to hospitals in Varazdin and Zagreb. Another person died in the hospital, a total of 12 victims, the victims have many serious injuries,” the minister said during a briefing.

    According to preliminary data, there are no children among the dead and injured. Božinović also said that the bus, registered in the city of Grodzisk Mazowiecki near Warsaw, was carrying a group of Catholic pilgrims to Medjugorje in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Polish consular services are also working on the spot, they provide the necessary assistance, says in the communiqué of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland on the accident in Croatia. In addition, Morawiecki instructed heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health Zbigniew Rau and Adam Nedzielski, Deputy Foreign Minister Marcin Przydacz, as well as doctors and psychologists to arrive in Croatia. However, he expressed condolences to the families of the victims.

    “This morning, I discussed the details of the tragedy with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic, who assured of the full support of the Croatian medical services. I instructed our consular services to organize support for the families of the victims of the car accident,” — wrote Morawiecki.
