The leadership of the International Atomic Energy Agency plans to intensify contacts with Russia and Ukraine regarding the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. This was announced by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
According to him, the agency also intends to establish contacts with the leadership of the United Nations. According to Grossi, the IAEA plans to send its mission to the Zaporizhzhya NPP in the near future.
At the same time, the director general noted that the agency’s specialists could not visit the power plant due to some problems. He explained that the organization of the IAEA mission takes some time.
Earlier, Grossi assessed the danger of the situation with the shelling of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. He expressed confidence that there was no “immediate threat” to the facility’s nuclear safety.
