Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Rafael Grossi plans to meet with Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on March 4 during a visit to Tehran to discuss “restarting the dialogue” on the Iranian nuclear deal. This was reported on Wednesday by the Euronews TV channel.
According to his diplomatic source, Grossi has made it clear that he will visit Tehran only on the condition that he speaks with Raisi. Amid deteriorating cooperation, the head of the IAEA “wants to be able to restart relations at the highest level.”
The meeting is scheduled for the morning, and in the evening the head of the IAEA will return to Vienna, the source said.
Iranian Fars news agency reported on March 1 that Grossi would arrive in Tehran on the evening of March 3. The agency noted that Grossi will “meet with officials” of the Islamic Republic and discuss “various issues” with them.
