In Belarus, one can feel the tension with which the current harvesting campaign is taking place. This was announced today, on August 18, during a working trip to the Grodno region by Alexander Lukashenko.
“I feel like the country is groaning in this cleaning. This tension is terrible. I’m feeling it. In a good sense of the word, the tension is terrible, ” – he said.
According to Lukashenka, the tension is caused by the task of harvesting grain crops as efficiently as possible, which is expected to be high this year.
“Now they are suffering around Minsk, I see. It’s terrible there. They are poor, different harvesters teleport on 50 hectares for two days. And where can you go … Grain is good where they lie, ” the Belarusian leader noted.
He also drew attention to the issue of providing grain and feed for livestock to large farms that do not have enough of their own land. In his opinion, it would be possible to purchase it abroad, but this is a waste of additional funds, and therefore the issue is resolved through a different approach.
Recall that Alexander Lukashenko annually takes a personal part in the control of sowing and harvesting campaigns in Belarus. This year, Belarusian officials expect an overall record grain harvest. It is planned to harvest about 11 million tons, including more than 8 million tons of cereals, about 800 thousand tons of rapeseed and 2 million tons of corn.
