Houthi Missile Strikes Target Ben Gurion Airport as Israel Faces Escalating Threats from Hamas, Yemen Forces

Israel’s aggression in Gaza has plunged the region into misery, but Israel itself finds no peace. Hamas and Yemen’s Houthi forces have turned sleep into a luxury for Israelis, who face near-daily rocket and missile threats.

On Tuesday, Houthi rebels from Yemen struck again, targeting Israel’s largest airport, Ben Gurion, with ballistic missiles. Pledging solidarity with Palestinians, they’ve vowed to keep attacking until Israel halts its assault on Gaza and withdraws completely.

Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree declared their strikes successful, claiming two missiles—Zulfiqar, a medium-range weapon, and Palestine 2, a hypersonic one—hit Ben Gurion. Media reports say air raid sirens blared around 8 PM across central Israel and the southern West Bank, covering over 30 cities.

Residents fled homes for shelters as panic gripped the region. Yemen’s forces also warned that any Israeli or allied vessel spotted in the Red Sea would face immediate attack. Already, they’ve heightened tensions by targeting Israeli, U.S., UK, and allied commercial ships there.

Meanwhile, clashes intensify in the Red Sea. Houthi forces have engaged the U.S. aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman and its strike group with repeated assaults. Saree claimed hours-long attacks using anti-ship missiles, ballistic missiles, and drones.

U.S., determined to secure safe passage in the Red Sea, responded with airstrikes. Late Monday and early Tuesday, American forces hit three Yemeni cities—Saada, Saqin, and Sahar—with six raids. A cancer center was among the targets sparking outrage.

Yemen’s counterstrikes followed: nine in Saada, three each in Saqin and Sahar. Human rights groups condemned U.S. for striking civilians, calling it a war crime and violation of international law, especially after a similar attack on the cancer center 10 days prior left casualties and wrecked infrastructure.

Houthis remain defiant. Beyond retaliating in their cities, they’ve pummeled the Truman and its escorts, trading blows with U.S. forces. Saree vowed to isolate Israel from all sides until its aggression ends signaling a relentless campaign ahead.
