MOSCOW, 6 Sep – At least 35 people were killed and 37 injured in northern Burkina Faso when a supply convoy was blown up by a pipe bomb transmits Agence France-Presse with reference to the head of the Sahel region.
It is reported that the incident occurred between the cities of Jibo and Burzanga in the north of the country in an area controlled by jihadist militants.
The supply convoy moved from the capital Ouagadougou under army guard.
Burkina Faso, located in the Sahel region, is trying to contain a radical jihadist offensive that has been ongoing since 2015.
