Dmitry Polyansky, Russia’s first deputy permanent representative to the UN, recommended that UN Secretary General António Guterres name the person responsible for the atomic bombing of Hiroshima.
The Russian diplomat wrote on a social network:
“Dear Secretary General, the world must also never forget that this crime was committed by the United States, being the only country to use the atomic bomb against civilians. Without any military need. It would be right if you mentioned this in your statements as well.” Polyansky noted.
In August 1945, the US Air Force dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. As a result of this atrocity, more than 200 thousand civilians of these Japanese cities died.
