High alert mode introduced in Kuban due to prolonged rains


Head of the Krymsky District of the Krasnodar Territory Sergey Les announced the introduction of a high alert in connection with the constant rains.

According to the site RIA News, in the Kuban, the storm warning was extended until May 9. Heavy showers, thunderstorms and wind speeds of up to 20 meters per second are predicted. The regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reports a probable rise in river levels.

“All operational services have been strengthened, forces and means have been mobilized,” the head of the district said.

Specialists from the unified duty-dispatching service will constantly monitor the water level in reservoirs in the district.

Earlier, a high alert regime was announced in Simferopol due to worsening weather conditions.
