On October 6, State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin will hold parliamentary hearings on the state of public electric transport in the regions. This was reported by the press service of the chamber.
The event will be attended by regional authorities, in particular those responsible for the development of transport and road facilities, city mayors, rolling stock manufacturers, representatives of leasing companies, operating organizations, professional associations and unions, State Duma deputies, leaders of Duma factions. A speech by Minister of Transport Vitaly Savelyev is also expected.
The participants of the hearings will consider the functioning of electric transport, renewal of rolling stock, improvement of infrastructure, restoration of convenient routes and financing.
As Volodin noted earlier, without solving these problems, it is impossible to improve the quality of people’s lives.
Prior to the start of the hearings, the exhibition “Tram and trolleybus in the Russian Federation” will be opened in the State Duma.
