Head of HRC: social studies courses need to be “unstuck from Western tradition”

This was stated on March 29 by the Head of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights (HRC) Valery Fadeev. At the St. Petersburg International Educational Forum, he called for a review of the practice of teaching Russian residents and abandoning the clichés and clichés that form “certain worldview“.

“Today, social studies courses are largely pro-Western. This is no way to educate a citizen of Russia. These courses need to be “unstuck” from the Western tradition“, – said Fadeev.

He stated that “Western scientific positivism has long exhausted itself and is simply harmful“. But while in Russia, teaching social science, they are actually implanting Western ideology, the head of the HRC believes.

“We did not take this critically, we forgot how to rationally evaluate ideological clichés”, Fadeev also said.

In his opinion, proper education, among other things, will pacify “the ninth wave of vulgarity that swept society“.
