The campaign of Vice President and presidential candidate Kamala Harris has confirmed Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate and vice presidential candidate.
A photo of Walz next to Harris appeared on the Harris campaign page with a message stating they are ready to win the election with supporters’ help.
Governor Walz confirmed his selection as Harris’ running mate on social media, calling it the honor of a lifetime.
The campaign team of presidential candidate Donald Trump labeled Walz as a dangerous liberal extremist.
The Washington Post notes that Walz’s selection aims to bolster the Democratic Party’s position in Minnesota and other Midwestern states. Walz, though not widely known on the national stage, has experience winning votes from conservative rural voters.
