In the entire history of the United States, the only contender for the presidency Herold Stassen was older incumbent head of state Joe Biden. He participated in the elections in 1992.

However, unlike Biden, Stassen failed to become a candidate. His candidacy was eliminated during the pre-election voting.

Stassen ran for president nine times: in 1944, 1948, 1952, 1964, 1968, 1984, 1988, and most recently in 1992. It is worth noting that in 1932 he ran for the post of head of state William Hope Harveywho was 81 years old.

Biden is now the oldest US president to have his name on the ballot. By age, he was ranked second among hundreds of contenders in the previous election.

The participation of US President Joe Biden in the 2024 elections was commented by the speaker of the House of Representatives of the country’s congress Kevin McCarthy. He urged the current head of state to take care of the future of Aerica, and not his political career.
