Group of illegal immigrants detained in Sofia

As a result of a special operation carried out by police officers in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, 28 people were detained who had illegally crossed the Turkish-Bulgarian border the day before. This was reported on October 5 by the Sofia newspaper “Telegraph”.

According to official information, the detention was carried out in one of the apartments located in the elite metropolitan area. Two local residents were arrested on suspicion of harboring illegal immigrants.

According to preliminary data, all immigrants are from Syria and Iraq. They were taken to a temporary detention center for refugees on the outskirts of Sofia.

An investigation is underway.

Recall that the previously acting Bulgarian government announced a large-scale action to combat violators of the state border of Bulgaria. More than 500 servicemen and policemen have been sent to the border regions.
