According to him, countries intend to move data centers to themselves in order to organize surveillance of citizens.
“There have been many reports that Apple is working with the Chinese Communist Party and the Russian regime to move data centers (processing), so that the governments of these (countries) can organize large-scale surveillance,” said Barr.

He also accused Apple of organizing “censorship” and “collaborating with authoritarian regimes” after the company turned off some of the options advocated by the “defenders of democracy.”

Apple has no excuse if it refuses to cooperate “with countries where there is a rule of law that respects privacy and civil liberties,” the US attorney general added.
