Glenn Maxwell’s fifth half-century and his 73-run partnership with AB de Villiers helped Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Punjab Kings by six runs in the 48th match of IPL 2021 on Sunday to make it to the playoffs. Bangalore made a challenging total of 164 for seven in 20 overs, while the Punjab team, despite being in good condition at one time, could only manage 158 runs for six wickets.
Bangalore thus won their eighth match in 12 matches and entered the playoffs with 16 points. Chennai and Delhi have already made it to the playoffs.
