In the preliminary investigation of UP TS, it has come to the fore that apart from UP, there is a large network of this racket in Maharashtra, Delhi, Haryana, Andhra Pradesh and Kerala as well. In UP, these people were active in Noida, Varanasi, Kanpur, Mathura, Ghaziabad and other districts.

Two people have been arrested by UP ATS from Lucknow on the charge of getting conversions done in other states including UP on the funding of ISI. Both are accused of converting more than 1,000 people across the country with the lure of jobs, marriage and money during the last one and a half years. UP ATS claims that the accused Mohammad Umar Gautam and Mufti Qazi Jahangir have got all the evidence of ISI funding and conversion.
ADG (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar said that on June 2, two suspects tried to enter a temple in Dasna with blades. When caught, they were identified as Vipul Vijayvargiya and Kasif. Vipul converted to Islam and accepted Islam. Both told during interrogation that some organizations are getting people converted on a large scale by luring them.
Transactions detected from abroad
According to the ATS, Umar and Jahangir were running the racket through an organization named Islamic Dawah Center at Jogabai Extension in Jamianagar. Evidence of lakhs of rupees coming in the accounts of the institution through many means has been found. The ATS is checking the IT returns of the institution, bank account details along with the major transactions done in the last few years. The ATS has also found evidence of foreign funding. The accounts are being traced with the help of central probe and intelligence agencies.

The network was running from Delhi’s Jamia Nagar
Umar and his partner Jahangir are running the entire network through an organization called Islamic Dawah Center at Jogabai Extension in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar. The chairman of this institution has also been named in the FIR of ATS. The main objective of this organization is to convert non-Muslims to religion. For this work, the ATS has found evidence of lakhs of money coming into the bank accounts of it and its organization through many mediums.
The ATS is scrutinizing the income tax returns of the institution, bank account details and major transactions in the last few years. The ATS has also found evidence of funding from abroad. The ATS is collecting information about these foreign bank accounts with the help of central agencies, investigation and intelligence agencies.
Seven thousand rupees used to come in the account every month.
The family of Aditya, a young man living in Kalyanpur, Kanpur, who was converted to Abdul after converting his religion, has also handed over the details of the transaction of money. From the documents which have been given by Aditya’s family, it has come to know that every month 7 thousand rupees were coming from abroad in Aditya’s account.

The deaf, the poor were targeted
According to the ATS, the accused used to target poor families, unemployed boys and girls, deaf and dumb students. After this, after doing brain wash in many steps, they used to change their religion. Jahangir used to get the documents of conversion prepared for the legal seal. Umar and his companions used to organize many conferences every year, in which 200 to 300 people were converted. Omar has also confessed to converting many women and getting them married to Muslims.
