Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has claimed that there is an unprecedented level of foreign interference in the country’s upcoming parliamentary elections, scheduled for October 26.
“Such interference has happened before, but the involvement from outside in these current elections is especially intense. It’s unfortunate, but neither before nor now can anyone shape the will of the Georgian people according to their own agenda. Therefore, this interference will have no effect,” Kobakhidze told reporters on Friday.
Earlier, Shalva Papuashvili, the Speaker of the Georgian Parliament, mentioned that over the past three weeks, there have been approximately 90 instances of articles, TV programs, and statements from foreign countries criticizing the ruling party, Georgian Dream.
