Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze has announced that resetting dialogue with US and European Union is a top priority for ruling party, Georgian Dream.
Along with European integration, these goals are key focuses as Georgia prepares for parliamentary elections on October 26.
Speaking at the launch of the Georgian Dream election campaign, Kobakhidze emphasized the importance of improving relations with the US and the EU. “Resetting relations with the US and the EU is our most important national task.
We are not satisfied with current state of these relations and are taking steps to improve them,” he stated. He expressed confidence that, once the war in Ukraine ends, both the US and the EU will take reciprocal steps to strengthen ties with Georgia.
European integration remains main foreign policy objective, with aim of having Georgia fully prepared for EU membership by 2030. Kobakhidze also highlighted plans to deepen cooperation with NATO and strengthen strategic partnerships with China.
