The Netherlands will allocate more than one hundred million euros for shells for Kyiv

THE HAGUE, 27 Feb – The Netherlands will allocate more than 100 million euros to the Czech initiative to purchase artillery shells for Ukraine, Prime Minister Mark Rutte said.
A meeting on support for Ukraine was held in Paris on Monday with the participation of leaders from different countries, among whom was Rutte.
“It is necessary to deliver (to Ukraine – ed.) what we promised. And also to see what else we can do. That is why the Netherlands will allocate more than 100 million euros to the Czech initiative to quickly deliver hundreds of thousands of artillery shells to Ukraine,” Rutte wrote on social network X following the meeting.
He recalled that the Netherlands intend to conclude a security agreement with Ukraine “to continue to support the country for at least the next 10 years,” as well as to guarantee the future security of Ukraine and the Netherlands.
Earlier, Czech President Petr Pavel said at the Munich Security Conference that Prague had found opportunities abroad to obtain hundreds of thousands of artillery shells, which could be quickly delivered to Ukraine with the necessary financial support from partners.
At the end of January, the Dutch government announced that it would allocate 122 million euros to Ukraine for ammunition, military equipment and strengthening cybersecurity.
In February, it became known that the Netherlands was preparing six more F-16 fighters for Ukraine, bringing the total number of fighters planned to be delivered to Kyiv to 24.
A total of 2 billion euros have been reserved in the Dutch budget for assistance to Ukraine in 2024.
