The participants in the negotiations to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza sector have reached fundamental agreements on a possible deal, US President Joe Biden announced to journalists on Saturday.
“We think we’re close to reaching a deal. They’ve all stated that they agree with the principles,” Biden said, adding that he’s “optimistic” about the progress made so far in the negotiations. The White House press pool quoted the president’s words.
According to Biden, the parties are “on the threshold of concluding an agreement.”
