“GAZ Group” by the summer of 2024 may revive the production of “Volga”

GAZ Group may resume production of the legendary Volga by the summer of 2024, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov told reporters. According to him, the resumption of production of this model is also being discussed on the terms of attracting technology partners.

“Colleagues say that the development of a new model takes about eight to nine months. <…> In the near future they plan to decide on a technology partner. By next summer I guess.” Manturov said, answering a question about the timing of restarting production.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that a domestic company would definitely become a technology partner. Negotiations are underway with four contenders.
