France demanded an urgent convening of a UN Security Council meeting on Karabakh

The French Foreign Ministry demanded to convene an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh. The department also appealed to the Azerbaijani authorities to immediately stop hostilities in Karabakh and comply with international law.

“France demands an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. It is consulting with its European partners and the United States to ensure that a response is given that is consistent with the regional security risks posed by Azerbaijan’s unacceptable offensive,” the ministry said.

Earlier, Armenia called on the countries of the UN Security Council and Russian peacekeepers to take measures to stop Azerbaijan’s hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh.
