Former world No. 1 Helep wants to prove his innocence in a doping case

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has filed another accusation against the former world number one Simona Halepaccording to the press service of the organization.

Halep said she wants to prove her innocence with the help of independent experts after the presentation of new charges of violating anti-doping rules.

“Three world-renowned experts who studied my tests made it very clear that my blood is absolutely normal,” the athlete wrote.

Last October, Halep was suspended from competition for an anti-doping rule violation. A doping test from a Romanian woman tested positive for the banned drug roxadustat.

Formerly doctor Eric Lyra from the United States admitted to supplying Olympic athletes with doping.
